I ordered a pan from JEGS but it didn't fit. Talked to the folks at JEGS and Summit and basically their suppliers don't give enough info for them to know what will fit the Vette.
I have a custom pan from Exotic Muscle for my 383. The other option I think will fit is a Canton pan. Not sure you can get the canton pan in a 2 piece rear main seal, but the one from Exotic Muscle shouldn't be a problem since it was built to order.
Why are you changing the pan? Assuming you are building your engine the pan you have will do just fine for a DD. If you plan on racing or X-crossing with hi-G turns a change is in order.

I didn't know there was a differrance..........mine leaks a drop or two ....whats the differrance ?.... it's a 2 piece main......the shop changed the gasket 5 times...still leaks..............and for sale
I have built 2- 383's with 1 piece rear seal for my 87 on the first one with 5.75 rods I used the pan that came with my 87. the second one is a four bolt main roller block 1 piece rear seal out of a 93 4x4 truck I used the oil pan that came with the core motor out of the truck. this one I had to paint the inside of the pan roll the motor over to scratch the paint and clearance the obstruction with a ball peen hammer a couple taps with a hammer did the job. this was probably because I used a 6" I beam rod and not the stockers.
I have built about 10 stroker motors in the last year. I have used everything from a stock pan to drag pans to aluminum pans. I have built as big as 427 cu in. I typically just clearance with a ballpeen hammer. The aluminum pan didnt clearance as well but I made it work. Bottom line is you will have to clearence any pan you use. The nice thing about a C4 is virtually all pans fit.

Didn't have to clearance my aftermarket pan for my 383.
I talked to the guys at Canton. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them-very helpful. Unfortunately they were outta pans that'd work for me till mid Feb or so.
