Which Block and Heads?
It will have a centrifugal type supercharger with fully ported heads as the main means of developing extra power. I would also like to use a roller cam , roller rockers, and a gear driven timing set. My aim is to have about 550-600 bhp when finished.
I realize that any build of this nature will require a forged rotating assembly and forged pistons. I also realize that the rest of the car will need to be altered to be able to utilize this much power in a safe manner.
Right now I would like to find out which block and heads would be the best candidates to base this on.
Thanks

--8-rib drive conversion
Unless you're planning on side-stepping the clutch at 5k with slicks, you might want to consider going on the cheap (suspect you'll get plenty of advise on how to build a bullet proof shortblock, so I thought I'd chime in for those of us who might be on a budget).
For the HP goals you stated, I think can get away with the stock cast crank w/ARP studs, some Scat or other medium quality H-beam rods, SRP low compression pistons, and Speedpro rings gapped slightly on the loose side. You may want to check the specs on your stock cam as many have good blower cam characteristics and they'll pass smog, too! I also think porting your stock heads and good aftermarket intake should get you where you want to go.
With the 5.7" rod and stock stroke, you'll have a better ring-pack and more skirt. You won't miss the additional torque a stroker gets you as you'll still be able to haze 3rd gear and run 11s.
The trick is going to be getting enough belt wrap to drive the blower w/o slip to make 12-14# boost to get you in the HP ball park. See if anyone is offering an 8-rib conversion for your car (Blowerworks??).
That's just my two cents so take it for what it is worth.
Regards,
Chris
