Is this fuel pressure normal?
My 86 vert is still running very badly. I just thought to check the fuel pressure AGAIN and I this time I noticed the following.
The pressure while seems to drop from around 38psi to maybe 30psi when I rev it up to only 3000 rpm. The pressure guage shows a quick drop to around 30 psi then a quick recovery back to 36-38psi.
The car has been running badly for a while and at one point I checked the fuel pressure and it seemed ok. At key on engine off it goes to 39psi and drops 3 psi to 36psi after starting the engine so that seemed normal. The pressure drop while running does not seem to be normal but I don't know for sure from lack of experience. Is it normal for the fuel pressure to drop to 30 psi when you're running or revving it up to 3000 rpm?
Anyway I hope you can see the video at
http://www.labib.com/fueldrop.wmv or http://www.labib.com/fueldrop.mod
Also., can anybody tell what that loud clicking noise you hear towards the end of the video is? Is that just a loud knock associated with the current badly running condition or is it something much worse?
Thanks
Lee
