My '93 coupe is having headlight dimmer problems...basically it doesn't work! I don't know if it is completely broken or if it can be adjusted (sounds nuts eh?). Anyway, has anyone replaced one on a C-4? I've done it on other cars, but it seems that GM has put this thing in a "hard to get at area". Please share any experiences on the procedure! You know, you have to flash your lights at night, when you can't wave...people will think I'm rude!!
I've got the same problem with my 93, you pull back on the lever and it doesn't 'click'. I learned here on the forum that it is a problem with the tilt wheel mechanism. Is there looseness or play in your steering column? In mine, if you put downward pressure on the steering wheel the dimmer switch will work.
There was a thread on this subject a month or so ago. Try searching for High Beams.

Let me add one other thing, don't be intimidated about taking the column out to work on it. Its only 5 bolts and three or four plug-ins and it slides right out. Also if you wish someone else to work on it, try http://columnsgalore.com/. It will most likely cost you about 175 bucks plus parts.
Thanks to all who replied about the dimmer switch problem...I tried the downward pressure on the steering-wheel while working the lever. AND GUESS WHAT? IT WORKED !!!! Wow, talk about a quick fix!!! Thanks again
