My '86 was showing signs of bad alternator. I checked connections, fusible link, etc. per recommendations on the Forum. All looked good, so I took alternator to NAPA; they bench tested and said it needs to be replaced.
Stamped onto the side of the alternator case:
1101273Y
105 A
12V
NEG
a five digit code looks like 62282
I'll probably have a local shop rebuild. In the meantime, I'm checking online for price of remanufactured AC Delco part. Two part numbers show up (on both the AC Delco site as well as Rock Auto):
ACDELCO Part # 321286
ACDELCO Part # 3342286 DELCO CS130
Both are 105 amps; aside from different part numbers, what is the difference?
