I should have been more specific, I guess.
At that price, it should have a walbro 255lph pump in it for that.
You should be able to get a tank for half that.
$100-$175.

That would be more like it, but they are ridiculous new.
I bought a 1986 Coupe, new, back in 86, and one of the specific changes listed for the car was a reduced size/capacity on all 86 Vettes fuel tanks, down from 20 gallons U.S. to about 17 gallons, compared to earlier(84 & 85) Vette C4 tanks. I believe C4 tanks then stayed at the reduced capacity thru to the 96's. Not sure about any other/further C4 tank changes besides that?! Ciao.
Nope, sorry, they are all 20 gallons. I have never seen one less than
Completely empty, to completely full, I have put 22 gallons in the 89.
Just for grins and giggles, next time you have the filler neck out of the tank look on the high side of the inside of the tube and you will see a vent hole about 1/32 in dia. drill this out to 1/8". Then move up the tube next to the lip of the collar and drill another 1/8" hole there. Next time you fill up when it clicks off, you'll put about .6 gallon in before it's completely full.
No, it will not cause any problems.
Ever stood there in the rain or freezing cold, for 8-10 minutes to get a couple more gallons in a fill up? Try a minute or less.
