If the plumbing of the MAF sensor is an issue, here's another possible option that I'm considering for myself:

Edit: This idea is more suited for an L98 analog MAF application, so it may not be relevant to the OP. I think the LT1??? and later GM mafs are digital (frequency based).
Perhaps the LS7 maf can be easily applied in a similar fashion for digital maf cars.
