Default Is FX3 worth having?

Hi all,

I have a 92 red coupe and have had trouble with my FX3 since buying the car a year ago. I have been told a couple of times to actually put sports suspension on the car rather then having to buy a new shock and actuator. I live in Australia, so getting parts from the States is very expensive.
All ideas on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mark

What kind of troubles are you having with the FX3? I love my FX3 setup on my 90, works like a charm. I know that shipping and the cost of things in Australia is expensive, it may be the way to go to just get a stock suspension installed depending on how bad a problem you have with your FX3 setup.

I like my fx3 set it for soft ride while cruising and when on performance setting
CAUTION OBJECTS IN REAR VIEW MIRROR ARE ABOUT TO DISAPPEAR QUICKLY :D iF YOUR SHOCKS NEED REBUILT CALL BILSTEIN 800-537-1085
THEY WILL REBUILD AND REVALVE THEM FOR ABOUT $ 65.00 PER SHOCK

Another Aussie !! - FX3 when it works is good, but when it starts having problems it's BIG $$ over here. Just had my complete system replaced with new Bilsteins Shocks, Coilovers, Lowered 1", Valved for Road/Track, got rid of the front & rear springs, adjustable ride height on the coilovers

Took it out the afternoon I picked it up, got back home over 2 hours later having travelled over various types of road at various speeds. Man, what a difference in the suspension now - the car just hugs the road and has absolutely fantastic handling.

Check out Quadrant Suspensions (Bilstein Distributor) at www.quadrantsuspensions.com.au, they did mine and with their Bilstein/race car experience really did a great job.

If the actuators are ok they can rebuild your shocks and valve them how you like. If your shocks are gone they can replace them. If the actuators are gone they can replace them.

When I added up the prices it was cheaper to have a complete new suspension system rather than replace all the actuators and shocks. My fronts shocks were gone and not rebuildable, the rears were marginal but could have been rebuilt, two actuators were dead but I would have replaced all four at the same time. There is no point in rebuilding when the cost of new is the same or lower.

I also love the FX3. My 86 is a Z51 so I had no choice. But the Z has FX3 and what a feeling to be able to go from a stiff handler to a smooth cruiser.
