Trip meter 87 convert 4+3 tranny
My trip meter resets to 0 when I turn the car off, whether I have gone 1 mile or 200 miles and on occasion reads 5000 when I start up again.
It works perfectly, as advertised, when the ignition is turned on.
I have gotten various opinions from cluster, fuse, ECM, and all different so far.
Does anyone know where the odometer gets its info and power from?
This issue is not a show stopper but I have the car apart right now and if this is a reasonably easy, cheap fix I might as well.

tripping gauge.
My trip gauge does that also. I have a rebuilt gauge cluster and ecm and it still does it. I think the odometer is electrically controlled by automatic tranny 700r4. Im interested in this question too.
