Sealant On Opti Install?
I'm changing the Opti in a few weeks. I have the late model with vent tubes.
Should I take the opti apart and use sealant on the gasket? What about the vent tubes?

When I replaced my OPTI I used a small bead of silicone on the external seams of the unit leaving the vent holes open. Its just added insurance of keeping the moisture out if your water pump decides to fail. I changed the OPTI ,water pump and thermostat at the same time.
