would really like some info on how far i can modify my '86 L98 before i need to reprogram the computer, thanks

From what I hear the mass air cars can handle substantial mods before a re-program is neccisary. If you increase air and fuel flow I still would reccomend a tune for max performance, but it will run on stock programming. I know that on 90-91's you have to reprogram for just about anything! Hope this help a little

As a very VERY loose rule of thumb, the stock calibration can add/remove 20% of the fuel that is preprogrammed from the factory. This is, and I repaet, very rudimentary. You wouldn't want to add 20% more airflow to your engine and let it stick with the stock programming.

I have a different perspective than many people on programming. I tune for driveability and not max performance. When the driveability is all perfected, the max performance seems to fall into place so easily. Just MHO. -Matt-
