Wacky Tach fix.......
I had recently posted about my tach jumping crazy on hard accel. Well I had to replace my alternator today and that seems to have fixed the problem :confused: Oh well Im not complaining :D :D

Hmmm, while trying to heat the car up today for a emission test, 2nd gear at about 3K rpm my tack was jumping down to around 4 rpm :crazy: Good info to know. Thanks....

I remember someone else saying something about that a few months back. Changed the alternator and the tach settled down!

Hey Ed, I hearthat when you let off the gas, that's the only time your tach settles down! Funny that's how mine is too. :jester

Mine was completely sporatic over 3000 rpm when my timing was WAY off from the junked distributor gear. Once we put in the new gear and got it retimed, the tach was/is smooth as silk. Still to slow on 1st gear WOT, but it's fine in all other ones.
