I have the 255 installed in my car. My first question is, do you need it? The stock pump is more than you need for everything up to some big-budget 383+ of forced induction cars.
The install is a snap, the C4 is probably the easiest fuel pump R&R I've seen! You can take the entire assembly out through the fuel door.
Unless it has, or is, failing, the stock pump bypasses as much fuel as the engine burns, under most circumstances. Is the stock fuel pump not meeting the demand? Are you running out of fuel under high loads at high rpms? If so, a new, stock pump will probably cure the problem, unless you have built the engine where it has a very high demand. Of it is determined that you need it, the proper Walbro pump fits in the stock location. There is no need to look for a place to install it.

I've got one on my TPI Z-28, and is quiet and reliable, but I really don't NEED teh extra pressure. I was
going to put a 383 in it before I got teh Vette, so I went heavier, preparing for teh bigger motor. I'll buy
another one if and when teh OE Vette one goes...

The fuel pumps on C4s start to act up and fail at about 75000 miles or so. Accordingly, if you have a high mileage C4 and it has the original fuel pump, you should consider changing it as it will likely fail at the most inopportune time. I installed a Walbro pump a year or so ago and it works just fine.
I have attached a WORD file documenting how to remove and install a new fuel pump. Good luck.

Changing tehfuel pump won't change teh pressure, unless teh new pump is of such a high volume and teh fuel system is so restricted that it can't handle tehextra volume.
