Default question for those with air pump elim.

Does anybody have any real gains with one installed? ET wise or MPH wise. I'm curious if its worth the $
thanks

I'm sorry, I can't help you here. I changed 2 things before getting a good strong run in.... removed the main cat, and the air pump.

You had a pretty strong gain with those two mods didn't you? Do you still have your precats?

Yeah, I picked up on average 3mph, and went from 13.89 to 13.48. I got some REALLY good air and track conditions that day. The air was -487 feet that day. I also ran in complete street trim that day though, I didn't play with my tire pressure like I normally did.

Hey Scorp,
Are you still running the precats? How about sound without the cat? Any better? The 3mph in the traps, can you feel a difference just driving around in the car?

You will not feel any differance witht the AIR pump Elim pulley, but you will gain go slightly faster in the 1/4 mile.

I gained about 1 tenth in ET.

I still have the precats. The sound is much better. It sounds more "gurgly" at idle, slight popping on deceleration, and roars a little more at WOT.

As far as SOTP, it is hard to say. I think down low is the same, but it pulls a couple hundred RPM more up top. The car usually completely would die at 4800 RPM, but will hold up to about 5100 now. I still shift much much sooner since the peak power is lower, but you CAN run the gear out more if need be.

I gained about 1.5 mph in the 1/8, and 3 in the 1/4.

You guys are talking about the EGR mod right, if so can someone post a link to a page that shows how to do this mod.

I actually did before and after dyno tests with mine. No real gains. Maybe 2 hp but it does remove at least 25lbs and cleans up the engine compartment alot. It was worth it to me.

I heard that if you have the mod done, your car runs really cool, instead of really hot like our cars like to run.
