Default Weird brake problem

First let me thank all the people who have helped in the past. Remember that when you post a reply, you are not only helping the original poster, but also a lot of other people who have and will have this problem.
My 1993 has been having a strange problem since I replaced the brake booster. When I first start it up, the brakes peddle has a lot of travel. After a little bit it gets normal. And after some driving seems like there is almost no travel to apply the brakes.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Could be you didn't set the travel correctly on the operating rod.

What is the correct procedure to set the travel on the rod?

I don't see how that adjustment could explain the fact that it does not work correctly initially and then begins to function correctly. It's not like the rod changes length. What am I missing?

I also do not think it is the rod adjustment, but would like to check it to take it off the list of possable problems. Does anyone have a procedure to check the travel?

Sounds more like a bad booster. If the diaphragm isn't goimg to it's normal position there would be more travel until it was flexed enough to return to where it should be. Robert

sorry for the delay.I've found the easiest way is to stick some chewing gum on the tip of the rod or Plasticine or play dough('schuss spelling)and bolt up the MC and see how much gap you have when you pull it off. From what I remember you need about 25 thou play.
