Default 1989 Rim Style?

I have 17 inch stock rims that came with my 1989. Are these rims referred to as "Saw Blades"? I want to put 13in brakes on the front and can not find out if it will work without spacers or any adapters that chance the front wheel base. Any info would be great? Thanks,

17" required, yes Saw Blades, yes, but you'll still need an adapter for the calipers.
Use the Search function, there's alot of info concerning this topic. Well worth your reading

89 rims are called "cuisinarts".

Thanks, for the info, If I understand you correct the calipers require an adapter, does this change the wheel base width? Thanks,

The sawblades that the brake company are referring to are for 91-96. 90 and older, generally require a wheel swap to either A-Molds, 91-96 Sawblades or custom 17" rims. Reason is when you replace the caliper, your wheel will not fit on anymore. It will hit the caliper. As for the adaptor for the caliper, that is included with the kits, unless you are piecing it together.

Default 13" brakes

You need to be more specific about your brakes. If you are referring to 13" brakes from a C4 car, they will clear your '89 stock wheels as they were always an option from '88 on. They are a bolt on deal...in addition to the new rotor and caliper, you need to buy a caliper carrier for the larger caliper. It is an oem stock part. Calipers usually sold new on ebay as GS calipers.

If you are referring to 13" C5 brakes (usually called Z06 brakes), they will require an adaptor to bolt on to your spindle. Also they will not clear your stock wheels but should clear aftermarket A molds.

The J55 or GS brakes will fit. I have them on my 1989 Z51 with 17" wheels.

That's interesting. Because in a previous post it was stated that the 88-90 cusinarts would clear C-5 brakes. Not taking sides here, just curious because I was thinking cusinarts would make nice auto-x rims with race tires.
