4+3 Shifter Lube???
Took my shifter apart and cleaned it; nothing broke, just being pre-emptive...
The shifter still had the OEM lubricant on it; that sticky, red goo that GM uses in some places. It had held up well, but was starting to get "thick".
What do other manufacturers use for shifter lube? Even if I could find this goo, I'm not too fond of it.
I'm leaning toward graphite-based lube, like camshaft assembly lube. I've never tried any Teflon lube; don't even know if anyone's made it yet.
Anyone have any preferences on shifter lube???
(I was also amazed at how crude this thing is...*No* machined parts; all stamped, even the holes...The surface hardening held up well; very little wear)...
