are these part #,s a roller block please ??
hi guys,
im going to post up all the numbers i wrote down of the block to make sure they sent me a roller block for sure.
ok here they are,
on front it says
638
627
g-20
on side it says
638
on rear it says 627
638
h14
on top rear lhs it says
6
gm 5.7 lg
sgi
and finally on right hand top side it says 14093638 casting #
so from all of this numbers,could this tell if this is a roller block please ??

Look in the lifter valley;
it should have 3 tapped bosses to hold the lifter retainer plate (spider )
The top of the lifter bores are machined flat , not as cast.
Also has 2 tapped holes at front for the cam retainer plate.
Block # mean very little; one casting could have been machined for several different setups
