Hi everyone. A couple of weeks ago i had issues with my vette when it was raining. The car would have trouble starting, backfire and not run well at all. I had the car towed back to my house and i found that after i let it dry out for awhile the car seemed to act fine. But i realized it would still do this on and off. I feel like this car has emotions or somthing. Anyway it keeps throwing the service engine light and i was wondering how do i check these codes again and how do i tell which each code means. Thank you for your time.

If you are going to shoot trouble like this it's best to buy a Helms manual. Also check out the tech FAQS at the top of the page and try some searches. Good Luck
ok so i figured out the codes they are 14 14 14 22 22 22 42 42 42 54 54 54...... So i looked up what these each mean 14 is Coolant Sensor Circuit (High) 22 is Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) (Low)
42 is Electronic Spark Timing Circuit (EST)
and 54 is Fuel Pump Circuit (Low Voltage)
What they mean is that a reading was received on each of those circuits that was out of the parameters the ECM is programmed to receive based on all the other inputs. Sometimes bad readings are caused but defective sensors and sometimes the readings are accurate and caused by other conditions that need to be corrected. Your FSM has trouble shooting charts for each of the codes. Proper, systematic, trouble shooting and diagnosis can save guessing and the replacement of good parts that aren't the cause of the problem. Besides the FSM, a Haynes, Chilton's, or other generic manual won't do, you will need a basic DVOM, and eventually, a fuel pressure gauge.
crippledave: I would suggest you do some reading on fuel injection systems. Charles Probst has written a good book on Corvette fuel injection systems that is very good. Asking the questions above, indicates you have a lot to learn before you start turning bolts and removing parts. I suggest you contact someone in a Corvette Club in your area and get a recommendation for someone to help you.
Since it was raining why it happend.. was the Air Filter wet ?.. was there water in intake path.. Wet MAF ?
I had somewhat a few of your problem.. I found that the Air Filter was completely Wet.. but when the Air filter dried out. it seem to run better..? Just something to check... along with all of your other connections to make sure the are all dry.
