checking the connections to the battery again and checking the fuses are the first things that come to mind, and if it an automatic make sure its in park or neutral. I'd have to think some more on it if thats not the case.
Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. You'll need a wiring diagram and a test light to track it down. You might start by checking the fusible links near the battery.
the alarm light in the dash does not flash, nor does the lights turn on when door is open turning key yields nothing not even a click. every other electric devise works radio,ant.,windows,horn. i'm stumped
Always include the year C4 you are asking help for, no one here is clairvoyant and all C4's are not exactly alike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unplug the clutch safety switch (gear selector switch at base of shift lever if automatic) and jump the wiring harness plug. Measure the voltage on the jumper with ign sw in crank position. If you have 12v and no cranking, then you have a defective starter/start solenoid. If no 12v, then remove the kick panel above the drivers feet and find the 2 wires from above the steering column that plugs into a 2 pin connector and unplug it. Insert your ign key and measure the resistance across the connector from the steering column. It should measure the same as the pellet in your ign key. If it is more than 4% from the pellet resistance, you need a new ign lock which will have new contacts that make connection to the pellet. You can temporarily bypass VATS (depending on what year your C4 is) by connecting a fixed resistor across the 2 pins on the connector from the wiring harness the same value as your pellet. Don't permanently bypass VATS because 99% of thefts are done by bashing the ignition and jumping the ignition. VATS prevents this.
