Default I bought the tires...

I bought some M/T ET street radials.

Now I need some pointers on how to launch my car so that I do not break the rear end. I am guessing its not a very good idea to just dump the clutch. What RPM do you guys rev to when you launch the car?

I usually dump mine about 3K but at your power level, even with drag radials, you are gonna have to be lower than that probably. BUT I was using the BFG's so I'm curious to see how your M/T's hook up.

If you are running the stock clutch then even dumping it probably won't hurt anything - the stock clutch has a LOT of forgiveness in it. I didn't break anything until I went to the Mcleod clutch. I made a lot of passes with BFG drag radials on the stock clutch with no breakage of parts.

You still planning on going out March 1st?

Thats the plan.

My clutch is not stock, but close. It has the stock material on the flywheel side and metallic pucks on the other. Thats the best way I can describe it. Kentucky clutch custom made it for me. A few Mustang guys I know recommend it. Its a little more "grabby" than the stock clutch. I have the stock flywheel and new stock pressure plate.

That's cool. I doubt you'll break anything with that.

I LOVE this Mcleod clutch, but it's a beast. It WILL find the weak link in your drivetrain.
