Default LS2 swap into early C4?

I have been reading threads from the past couple of years in regards to LS1 C4 swaps, since last night. I stopped by the shop that is going to be doing my build and after discussing options with them (383 Stroker, 406 Stroker, etc.), they suggested that we look at doing an LS2 swap into my 86. So, now I am at a cross-road of sorts. My current setup is factory (L98, 700R4 and a Dana 44 rear). I will be replacing the Dana 44 with a solid rear by ski_dwn_it. Gears will be 3.90s. Has anyone produced a conversion kit for this swap? Can the factory gauges be used, or should they be replaced? Should I look at replacing the transmission with an electronic version? Or, should I stay with a 383 or 406 with a Super Ram intake (want to keep fuel injection)? This Corvette will be used for drag racing and some street driving (so it needs street manners). Any input would be great. I didn't want to junk up the older threads by asking these questions. Thanks.

I think the right choice is to go the ls motor route. The ls motors have lots of potential to make big power.

Default LS2 swap

The early C4 will be alot easier to swap the lsx motors. The gauges all recieve the same inputs as an aftermarket setup. I just got my motor plates from Speed Hound. Since your doing a solid axle swap the bracket provided take care of any trans you use. Going that route I think you would have it easier than anybody else doing the swap. Im still having a hard time finding a take out motor.
