Hello All,
While rotating and torqing the wheels the other day I noticed that my upper ball joints were starting to show some wear. (only 40K miles.....:mad )
Are the bushings replaceable in the original A-Arm?
Does anyone have some posts bookmarked on the replacement details?
I am in the San Fran Bay Area - any good shops that will be reasonable for this repair?
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated (as usual, you all are the best!)
I have been recommended TRW or MOOG ball joints they are appx. $400 for the front four. Much more than the kit sold from PST which is only $250 for all the ball joints and all the graphite impregnated urethane. I haven't heard anything bad about the PST ball joints, but I know TRW are great and there probably is some reason that they are twice as much. I'd just get a good jack and do the job myself. At the same time you can remove the front mono-leaf and lower the car about one inch. Just a thought - Good Luck!!! :D
Thanks All!
Would your replace the upper A Arm bushings? Mine do not look bad and the only replacements are poly.... What brand bushings do you all recommend?
I wouldnt change those A arm bushings for a while. The car isnt that old and the mileage isnt that high. Not unless you want to upgrade the bushings to the stiffer poly ones.
The ball joints,Id do if they show wear.
Be sure to get an alignment if you change the ball joints.
