Default TPI Cam Selection

Been researching and running desktop dyno, I'm looking at the Comp Cams 08-501-8, pretty comparable to the LPE 211 cam. Specs: at .050" lift its 212 / 218, and lift with 1.6 would be .521" / .528". on a 112 LSA

Car Set upon install will be:
- High Flow Base & Tubular Runners
- P&P Plenum
- BBK 52mm Throttle Body
- TPIS Headers & Borla Cat-back (Going to do a dual exhaust set up on it.)
- I think it's a catco converter

With the cam I'll install 1.6 RR, replace the springs to handle the lift, new seals, lifters, push rods, etc.

I think the 502 cam might be a little too big for the TPI, anybody disagree?

Thoughts, suggestions?

MO, and depending on heads etc., the 211, zz9 (212/226, 483/520lift), and comp has one in that range, would be my considerations. These would need new tune/chip.

501 should be fine, the 502 would be better IMO if you want to upgrade your heads later.

That was something I was thinking about. Upgraded heads will be installed down the road, leaning towards a set of Trick Flows.

You could install the 502 with stock rockers, or do 1.5 RR's.

Looks like a good choice to me, 502 would only be in my considerations if I had some plan for a later combination.

that comp cam should work well up to a 5500rpm redline, i have a similar cam two steps larger with the 224/230 lobes. Power peaks on this at 6050rpm with a miniram, works nice with a 6500rpm redline. which of course is a bad idea on a stock L98. I think you would be happy with the cam you listed on a upgraded TPI 5500-5700rpm motor, should make pretty decent power and be as driveable as stock.
