I am working on a 4+3 to ZF swap. I have a ZF bell housing (off the car) that the pivot stud hex is rounded off so I can’t unbolt the pivot and I can’t slide the fork off the pivot, it hits the side of the BH.
Any ideas how to get the fork arm off the stud. I am ready to cut the thing off.
You've got the idea...
When in this perdicament (lost count after 10 times), we cut the ball stud off using a 4-1/2" cut-off wheel on a pneumatic cut-off hand held saw. We've tried many other ways but this is the most efficient method providing you have a steady hand. ;-) Once the stud is cut, a 1-1/8" socket will drive out the rest (counterwise to loosen from the flywheel side). Be Carfull and Good luck.
