Default '94 A4-adding LT4 hot cam - performance to expect?

'94 Vert - A4 w/307 gears /performance axle (whatever that means) / 85K

Present Mods: (basically stock)
MSD Pro Billet distributor
Airfoil
Stock exhaust
Shorty headers
Throttle body by-pass
160* thermostat
Hypertech program (will be removed and replaced with pcm4less tune)

Adding Mods: What to expect?
GM LT4 hot cam kit w /1.6 rockers, springs, etc.
GM Performance lifters
Stock heads - valve job /shave off .010 /possibly clean up the ports
Air intake - cutting lid /adding a second smaller filter in the upper radiator shroud for colder air from below
PCM4less tune

Any problems with clearances - piston/valves, rockers/covers?
Will stock injectors be sufficient?

Looking for a mild street sleeper with a little thump from the cam. Has to pass emissions.

Performance rear axle means you have the 3.07 gears. Since we are guessing, I'd say maybe 30 to 40 hp for the cam, rockers, and tune.

If you're not going to port the heads theres really no need to pull them just to have them shaved. If you pull the heads go ahead and have em ported, that will really help complement the cam.
Why are you replacing the lifters? Are yours bad? I know you can get the LS7s for just north of $100 but the stockers last a long time and many dont replace them. Roller lifters are not subject to the same wear and tear that the older flat tappet styles endured. Just my $.02

Per your questions on gains, you'll notice it pulls to redline alot quicker and pulls harder. If you keep the heads stock and just complete the cam kit swap/mail order tune I'd guess you'll see around 310-320rwhp. With a good set of ported heads you may see another 20rwhp.

Thanks, Rick and Dr. Evil, those numbers are what I am looking for.

While in there, I decided to do a valve job, shave the heads and replace the lifters with the GM Performance ones, they have a higher checkball spring pre-load and eliminate any chance of floating.

I am probably going to port the heads also.
