Default TPS Question

Wondering if the Throttle Position Sensor part they sell in Mid America is worth the money or, can you accomplish the same thing by increasing the voltage on the sensor itself by turning a portion of it counter clockwise while hooked up to a voltmeter (like it says in TPIS Insider Hints manual)?

Thanks!

You answered your own question. :) Up the voltage to no more than 0.68v at idle and save the money.

That will work if your TPS is slotted like the earlier ones were and if your ECM doesn't automatically readjust it's perception of WOT. At some point these changes were made to the ECM algorithms, though I don't know when.
