Default Annoying fuel pump noise

Hello again, does anyone else running a Procharged P600B with the added fuel pump installed in back of the rear license plate also have a annoying whinny noise, especially at idle, is there a way to remount it with some isolaters or something to cut down the noise.

Thanx for any help

No but if there's room I wouldn't see why you couldn't use something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Rubber-foot-vibr...QQcmdZViewItem

Wander around your local hardware store and you might be able to find something similar. I used something similar to that on the electric fuel pump on my old car and it helped a lot.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out!

What kind of pump are you running? I'm running a Walbro 255 in-line with rubber isolation sleeve. I'm not sure what the Procharger setup runs.

Is it a vibration issue, or is it internal pump noise?

Is the pump mounted with a U-shaped bracket around the pump and then bolted to the body? If so a little rubber gasket material between the pump and the bracket would probably help too.

Got a picture of the setup?

Consider yourself lucky if the fuel pump is louder than the P600B! lol Try rubber mounting an inline Walbro. They're pretty quite. Good luck!

Hey Pizzano,
The Vortech & ProCharger in-lines are Airtex: very noisy! Replace with the Walbro GSL-392 (I sell) and I promise you won't hear except for key on like 'MO' above said. Hi MO !!!

Best regards,
Greg

Whats the price of that pump, and to answer the other post, it is wrapped in a rubber cup type insulator.

Can I just replace the Walbro out or do I need to change the wiring also, there is a relay mounted back there also.

Thanx

How is your pricing on walbro? I'm running a 8:1 fmu as well. I don't want to run an inline pump, i'd rather swap the in-tank for a 255 high pressure walbro. I normally buy pumps from APE.

Hey Guys,
The Walbro GSL-392 pump is $140.00. You need the install kit because it has the M10 barbed hose fittings - $15.00. That's all you need if you already have the Airtex in-line.
Joe, I really suggest you add the in-line to your GSS-340M and not try to go with in-tank only - it's so much better with 2 pumps in-series as I have explained why SO MANY times before on this forum. If you want to use the in-tank 340 by itself and are using an FMU then epoxy close the relief valve - but you will shorten its' life at the much higher currents it will draw.
If anybody interested further please contact me directly at: "greg@blowerworks.net". I do not sign in all that often.
Regards, Greg
