Default Headers n seats

Hey gang... I am looking for some feedback on two items I need to work on. I have a 1990 6 sp coupe I bought new and it's in excellent condition. However, I have a small crack in the passenger side exhaust header and under acceleration I can hear it. Should I pull it and fix it, or put a set of tube headers on the car? Are they hard to put in, and what kind are recommended if I go with aftermarket? Do any of you have experience with these? Second - my drivers side seat (cloth) is frayed on the bolster. Should I recover the seats (got a quote for $800.00!!) or shoud I consider some aftermarket seats for the car and if so, which ones?? I do not race the car; rather, I have shown it since new. Thanks for any advice! :chevy

I don't have an answer for the first question but on the seats, WetOkle seat covers are really nice and under $300!

If the engine needs the breathing then long tubes are the deal. Otherwise just pull both sides, port em, have the crack heliarched and put em back in. On an L98 you won't get that much gain from long tubes. FYI, to get at the clamp that holds the AIR tube to the header/Y flange remove the panel on the inner fender well and go in from the side; this little trick would have saved me a ton of sweat.

I agree on the WetOkie covers. MrMojo has a set on his Vette and they look great. He said they were a snap to install too.
