Drove '94 today for first time in a week. CD in player would not play (error message) and ejected. It has been pretty humid here so I figured it must just have been excess humidity in car. Started working right away. Then as I drive down road I notice that "sys" periodically flshes on display. I stopped at a store and when I got back in it didn't do that anymore. I'm inclined not to worry aboiut it right now - any other advice or thoughts?
The SYS light is a sign of a low Battery. Mine did it after a week of sleeping and when I drove it for a few miles it went out. From what I have read here, nothing to worry about given your reason for it coming on.
One of the other reasons is when someone puts in an after market radio.

Re: "SYS" coming up on speedo display (kwhman)
I agree, first make sure battery is in good shape. What happens is you start the car, and a good battery will deliver 12 volts or more to both the starter and the other electronic systems. When the battery starts getting weak, the voltage will drop and if it goes below 9 volts, a couple of circuits can give false trouble to the CCM as "low voltage" and you will get the "SYS" message.
However, there is a long list of CCM trouble codes that can also give the SYS message, so its not guaranteed that a low battery is the cause. But the low battery should be checked first. If the engine is cranking over slower than normal or the battery is 3 years or older, the battery is the most likely problem.
You can pull the codes. I recommend checking the Helms service manual for instructions and codes definitions.
