i bought rotors from car quest, the pad are wagner thermo quiet

car quest is a step above some of the other auto supply places, well in my opinion. Perhaps it's just because the local one has some good guys working in it.

Default mastercylinder/booster

Hard pedal might be a booster problem as mentioned before.
Soft pedal could be a mastercylinder going bad or mabey you just need to bleed them out real good, ie, air is in the lines.

if you want great breaking you have to put the proper pads on to do the job. Wagners are ok for everyday use but if you want performance get some Hawk pads and break them in properly, SS brake lines will also help. Pads are the main difference, you give up longivity for a better pad but that the price you have to pay if you want better breaking....G

Default Depends upon pad compound

Some pad compounds wear in within a few miles ... others up to 1000 miles. The pads aren't making full contact until they are worn in and may not perform as well.

Ex: EBC has grades red, yellow, green and black ... some "break in" right away others don't.
