I bought a tool to clear my screen on my dash were infl reset light is and was wondering buy using this tool could it possibly messed up my computer or anuthing because it seems to bogg and cough when its given gas?
There's a tech tip write up on the main page. It's a common problem on 90's. The air bag shock sensors on the frame need to have the contacts cleaned off and then you can get the light to go away.
Clearing this code shouldn't have anything to do with it coughing or stumbling. It might need the Throttle Body cleaned maybe a Fuel Filter or Plugs and Wires. Sometimes cleaning the Frame Sensor and frame will solve the problem and other times you need to replace the sensor. But when working on the Sensors DISCONNECT THE BATTERY Pipe
Hey Olds442/vette I would try the Fuel Filter and cleaning the Throttle Body first before adding anything to the fuel. The reason the INFL REST/Seatbelt light have nothing to do with it is because it's a completely different system. It sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me. Maybe some Injector cleaner or Dry Gas in the tank also. Let me know how ya make out. Pipe
Sorry, I missed the cough and studder problem. The Infl Rest light is a pain, but it won't effect the system or how the car runs.
I would start with giving here a tune up. Plugs, wires, some fuel injector cleaner. Then start hunting for other problems, bad sensor, vacuum leak, etc. Start with the easy stuff, and a tune up can do nothing but help.
