Alignment Questions
I came across a post about alignment a while ago that had some good questions to ask alignment shops before choosing one. I tried searching for it again (using archive and all) but it was probably mixed into a different topic. Its for a 1991 vert for a four-wheel alignment.
Does anyone have any good questions to ask shops before taking it to them. I don't know much about how they do it - its with lasers or something, right? Should I ask when was the last time they had it calibrated? What about fair prices, with and w/out tire rotation and balancing?
Additionally, not only is my alignment off, but my steering wheel does not point completely straight when the wheels are. Is that something alignment shops do or do I have to adjust the shaft or wheel myself?
I'm also going to have whatever shop I take it to rotate the tires and re-balance them before I replace my rotors and brake pads this weekend or next.
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan
I've never aligned a Vette before, but make sure the shop has done them . I know from working on them that they have alot of adjustments not typical of your normal everyday car. most cars nowadays don't have caster, camber adjustments.
