Brake trouble questions
I have a question reguarding the brakes on a 92 coupe, I am getting the red brake light in the cluster to come on once in a while (the same one that shows the parking brake set) it seems to happen under just slightly more braking pressure than normal. Not an emergency stop or anything like that, no ABS active or anything. The strange thing is after this happens the service ABS and service ASR lights come on, they stay on until you restart the car.
I have not had the chance to see if this sets a code.
The pedal does not go all the way to the floor, so I dont think the master cylinder is bad, and the car does stop fine, but the ABS is off. I checked that by backing up and hitting the brakes, the front tires slid.
Ther ASR is also off. (both the above only while the service ABS, ASR are lit).
After the restart everything works fine, until you have to brake even a little hard again.
Has anyone had this happen to them? And what did you do to get it fixed.
Thanks in advance.

Check the brakes with wheels off. Pads abnormally worn?
Bleed the brakes...do a gravity bleed as well.
Also check for diagnostic codes.
I would assume if the brakes warning valve is being tripped ( in the proportioning valve assembly ) you may have excessive air in the rear brake calipers. This might effect the whole ABS/Traction control system.
