thanks i was at the site but is kind of confusing. Can you or anyone tell which program is the one i need to view the data like the X ray scanners but using my laptop :seeya

You didn't say what year C-4 you have, but I am assuming it is an 86-91. The 84-85 and maybe the 86 use different computers.
I am using Craig Moates' latest software (ecmv845.zip) (Rich B gave the web site address) to scan and monitor the system with an Andrew Mattie ALDL converter that I assembled myself.

Mattie has a number of options available from the basic parts to fully assembled pieces.
The whole lashup works very well.
HINT:If your running a newer laptop (Windows 98, ME, 2000 etc) it may be necessary to boot the computer in the "safe" mode to get a connection between the car and the laptop. I am using a 700mhz Compaq Armada with ME and had to do that.
