Default Intermittant Climate Control

I have the electronic climate control in my 95 and sometimes it works perfect and other times it seems to ignore me, especially the buttons to make the fan speed go up and down. Is this something that can be reset or can the contacts be cleaned or should I just replace it?

thanks

There have been several write ups on how to clean the contacts on the HVAC Controller Head but apparently they have been removed from the archives and probably lost forever.

It is a pretty simple procedure with the most difficult part being removing the head. Use this link:

http://www.c4guru.com/articles/HeadUnitRemoval.pdf

Once you get the head out, place it on a towel and work from there (the towel keeps loose parts from rolling away and being lost). Once you get it disassembled, lightly rub the contacts with a pencil eraser and then wipe them with alcohol or better yet electrical contact cleaner (Radio Shack).

Had a similiar problems & it turned out to be the electriccal connections on top of the blower motor housing in the engine compartment. It's in front of the pass/side & has 2 connectors. Kinda stands alone so you shud have no trouble finding it.

Disconnected & cleaned the contacts & all was back to normal. Hope yours is a simple.
