Default clutch/flywheel time... suggestions?

i just clocked 95k on my 96' LT4 coupe, and feel its about time for a new clutch since im still riding on the stocker. the car is mainly used for weekend cruising and trips to the dragstrip. the car has a hotcam, tune, and free mods. it went 12.55 at 114mph on the slipping stock clutch w street tires (high 2.0 60fts). any suggestions on clutch/flywheel combos for this kind of use? the car is NOT a daily driver, so a little noise or whatever wont be a problem

thanks for any input

I'm using a stock DM with the Centerforce Dual-Friction and have been very happy so far. It feels like the stocker but does not slip as easy nor will it grip hard enough to break anything.

I can tell you what not to do; I have a RAM disc/pressure plate set up with a Fidanza aluminum FW; clutch chatter is so bad in reverse it shakes the whole car violently; reverse only, all forward gears are fine?????????????????

This does not sound normal, when you installed your Fidanza, did you have the weights put on it to match those on your DM Flywheel or is that simply a LT4 procedure? That's a bummer, maybe I'm just paranoid since my GS is having a Fidanza put into it next week.

My EOM Valeo clutch (pressure plate, disc) went out and it was replaced with a RAM pressure plate and disc. The EOM stuff was fine, but it did not last long with my set up....went to the RAM stuff and now I am having problems; we put a new steel insert in the Fidanza FW, so I don't think it is in the FW, but I am not sure....I am not the one turning the wrenches on it.....I just know it needs to come apart again to figure it out....I really don't know right now, but it's very annoying....something is not right....

On more thing.....get used to a very noisy transmission in neutral if you are going to the Fidanza from the factory DM; the lightweight Fidanza is a nice high performance piece, but when in neutral with the clutch disengaged (pedal at top), you will have a nice gear rattle!

I am not aware of any weights since my engine was rebuilt and balanced with the FW attached to the crank...not real sure about that...
