Lt4 cam and headers time

Need some advice and opinions on the best cam and headers for my car.
I don't want an over aggressive street monster. I am looking for a nice idle with a good tune to her. I don't road race, drag race, etc...just want to wake the car up.
I'm going to replace the waterpump and opti as well.
Help?!? I'll have my local tech do the work, so no worries about me screwing something up. I just want to start buying the parts and get on his schedule.

Running the stock rear gear. I already have Corsas on the car as well.
There are several different brands of LT's and each have their own good points, I use Melrose LT's and would use their headers again (skip the exhaust system) and have one built from the existing Corsa system.
If porting the heads discuss your cam selection with them, they know what works with their systems.
Then make sure you get a good tune.

it would have a slight chop and more power, but wouldnt be a monster

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Same mods i have on mine and love it! I still plan to run the 4.10 gears which i will be getting very soon! If your going to replace the Opti and distributor, go all MSD. I did and i love it! No issues...

The hotcam is a good cam for the money and it drops right in with minimal problems. You get to run the stock valvetrain on an LT4 which makes it easier/cheaper. If I had it to do over again I would have went bigger but I wouldnt be satisfied unless the act of flooring the gas pedal resulted in instant death. Anything less only fuels the need for more power. The CC305 is a nice cam and should make similar power to the HC, maybe more but would require different springs.
You'll need (for an LT4)
intake gaskets, get the 777s
timing cover gasket set, this should include crank, opti and water pump drive seals.
New timing chain. Stock on an LT4 is fine
New springs. Stock on an LT4 is fine (about $40
)Oil filter adapter gasket.
Water pump gaskets.
coolant
Oil/filter.
Ample supply of adult beverage of your choice. I prefer German beer.
Theres a few other things I'm forgetting but that should cover most of it.
Headers are up for debate. I've had my coated hooker supercomps on for a year. I got them slightly used. I picked up 4MPH and at least 4 tenths in the 1/4 with them.
If you really want to wake the car up then consider a Lloyd Elliot H/C package. at least give him a call and discuss it with him.

I may swap my 1.6's out for that extra lift...

I've told you many times, I'd fly you here and put you up for the weekend.
I just want to get all the parts together including a water pump, opti, new springs, etc.
Josh, I have a call into David Fulcher to see if he'd be willing to do the work.
Sorry to thread jack but i figured it would be a good question for everyone to know the answer to.

I know there have been a couple people try the 1.7s like Nathan Plenum on his LT1 but I dont think you'll have any issues with the 1.7s on an LT4. It takes your lift to .558 and our heads can use the extra lift. I've thought about trying it but I still need to do a couple other mods first. Alos, AFAIK no one makes a self aligning 1.7 RR so you'll have to have guideplates and hardend pushrods in addition to the new springs.

Brandt, I'm coming down to Braselton the 16th-17th of May for the year one event. I actually got picked to race for Vette magazine in their magazine shootout during the year one event.
