Default 92 ASR - throttle and trans issues

Hi guys. I have a 92 that I have a new and wonderful situation to tackle on my car. Last weekend I changed out the power brake booster. To gain additional clearance, I undid two of the lines coming out of the ASR box in the engine compartment so that I could get extra room to pull the unit out.

After fixing the unit, I didn’t notice anything bad about the shifting. I did however notice that the engine throttle body wouldn’t close enough. Last weekend I pushed the cable release about 3” from the asr box and now the car will go back to idle but not go full throttle. According to datamaster, the car will only go about 90%.

In addition, after I did this, the transmission gear changes appear to be delayed. The engine, even at minimal throttle will rev up higher and hold the rpm much longer before shifting. For example, in 1st gear, it rev’s up to almost 3000-3200 rpm just at minimal throttle. I usually have to completely let off the gas for it to shift.

So, with these two conditions in mind, how should I go about fixing these conditions? I don’t know what I did to upset the trans but I know I need to fix it to get back my drivability. In addition, I can’t resume tuning the car until I get all these little things fixed. Any help would be appreciated.

Other than these things, the car is driving fine.

I had to adjust my cables as well. Read and follow the instructions carefully. Hell I'm a hack mechanic and I set it.

Cool. That's a good thread that you posted. I didn't read through all of it but hopefully it touches on the trany function/adjustment as well.
