Default Borla VS Magnaflow

Ok,
I installed the Borla stainless Mufflers last night and comparing the two there are a few things I like about both. I have had my MagnaFlows about three years now and the car has always sounded great, a bit loud but just plain nasty. I have been wanting to tone it down a bit and the Borlas seem to have done the trick. I still think the Magnaflows sound is better but the Borlas are close and are defiantly quieter. I will modifying the Magnaflows so they have the same mounting point for the hanger as the Borlas, the way they should have been sold in the first place, and fixing the two square holes in the top from the original mounting tabs.

In general I like the way my magnas sound although if they were a little louder and deeper I wouldn't mind it. You're right about how they hang though - definitely too low. I've had em on the LT-4 for a couple yrs now and one day maybe I'll get around to modding them so they are a little snugger under there.

BTW this is seriously off topic but I was in Charleston for the first time for a business meeting a few months ago. Never seen a place w/ more beautiful young women! Stayed at the Francis Marion.

The MagnaFlows actualy are louder and deeper then the Borlas and with No cats, LT's and a 383 they just got a little loud. When I had them on in stock for I agree they needed to be a bit louder. The mounting isue I was referring to is the fact the tabs broke off both mufflers and i have seen this several times with the MF's< I wounder if they changed the design for later modles to correct this. THe only problem I had with Magnaflow is they refused to honer their guarantee and I refuse to buy another MF product because of that.

i didnt like the borla's sound at all. way to quiet. i liked the magnaflow but i thought they were exposed a little to much and the soud was good but not loud enough.. i went with the B&B system myself. those 4' rolled tips still look better then any of the other. they are louder then corsa and magnaflow but i istill wish they were louder.

Add some dynomax Ultra Flo Mufflers, that should quiet it down a bit for a fairly reasonable cost. For me with no cats and the BB Resonator the Borlas are just about right.
