Anybody know where I can find Rivnuts or Nutserts from a local (retail) supplier? They're all over eBay, but I'm trying to find a supplier in the Chicago area. I tried NAPA and Home Depot, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Here's how the Rivnut or Nutsert looks once it's installed.

Try a REAL machine shop, with gray haired folks behind the counter, or sometimes teh Snap On guy will have a starter set...

You might try a Fastenal. I am sure there is at least one in the Chicago area.

if the local sources don't have them then try http://www.mcmaster.com/, they have them - do a search for "Nut Certs" and/or "Rivet Nuts".

Problem solved. I found the parts at a Grainger branch located only 6 miles from home.
