Default Sport Seat Controls Question

Alright, i'm not a mechanical numb nuts here, so here's a question. The controls on both seats don't work. I've checked the manual for the fuse diagram and it doesn't seem to say what fuse the seats are on. I'm assuming that they are on a fuse somewhere in the fuse box, unless there is another relay center under the hood that i'm unaware of. Does anyone know what circuit they are on, or do they have thier own circuit and if i am missing a relay center under the hood that i need to be checking. Any suggestions?

Default dead seat controls, me too

I've just let that slide for years but I'd like to fix mine as well if it's something simple or reasonable in cost. Mine's a '92 C4, both seats are dead, not sure if they died together or separately - but the passenger side has hardly ever been used, and the driver side not much, before they died so the possibility of it being something like a fried or loose connection or fuse handling both makes sense.

I have shop manuals and will look up the troubleshooting again to see if it helps, what year is yours?

If yours is a 1992 the main fuses for the seats are on the passenger side dash (at the end of the dash) FSM indicates to check fuses first then check seat control switches. I have a 92 and found that the lumbar switches were corroded inside. I took them apart and cleaned them and they have been working since. Hope this helps

Mine's an 85, but that is what i was planning on doing but wasn't sure if it was something else cause both seats are dead. However, the power options on the drivers seat still work (back, forward, up, down)

I haven't looked in the factory service manual, but can say from experience that the 'fuse' that protects your sport seat circuit is actually a mini circuit breaker located in the fuse block of the '85. It also controls your power door locks. If your power door locks are working, I'd begin to conclude that the circuit breaker is okay and you probably have some dirty, corroded or broken toggle switches on the sport seats. They are situated in a way that makes them suseptible to catching all kinds of dirt and spills. I learned all this due to being told I had a slow power drain in the power seat circuit when I bought the car, and the previous owner said to just pull the above mentioned circuit breaker. Doing so eliminated my power door locks and when I searched the cause of the power drain, I located a shorted out toggle switch on the passenger seat. Sometimes the track, motors or worm screws that move the various parts of the sport seat get seized, worn, or jammed up and that could be a cause of them not working too. Good luck - they're fun when they work!
