I replaced my air pump and now have a rubber hose sitting there. What to use to plug it or should I just remove it and not worry about it? What could go wrong? Its an 85 vette, the hose heads over towards the AC?
if you took the pump out entirely why not remove the rest of the system? Makes the engine cleaner and easier to work on, that hose is just part of the AIR system you can plug it, or follow it and remove all the parts of the AIR system going from the exhaust manifolds to where the pump used to be. If you wanna do that someone oughtta chime in with pics.
I just put a new air pump on as well. Mine, the bearing went out and it started grinding rocks inside that thing.
I understand why you replaced it.....smog check is a beeaattcch. Removing all the "junk" is purely a temporary good feeling.
The only hoses....could be from the air filter....not that you have to take it off, I am just guessing. There was only that one Elbow looking thing on top of the actual air pump.
