Transmission problem
Hey everyone, 1993 auto, sometimes when cruising at around 50, and I mash the gas the car seemingly only downshifts once, I am guessing when cruising at 50 or so, the car goes into OD, then when I mash the gas it drops to third, instead of dropping to third then second, this only happens sometimes, I can tell the difference obviously because of only one downshift, and the RPM being around 3k. The previous owner said he had the throttle adjusted so it would be less sensitive, could this be it? If the transmission is going bad, It can be replaced under my warranty for 100 dollars, however if I can adjust the throttle to fix this problem, that would be nice. Btw this is a new name, used to be just Arjen, so my post count is gone but not forgotten! :bb

Find a reputable shop and have them check the adjustment. Do this before you learn how expensive it is to rebuild one of these units.

I didn't have anything adjusted, the previous owner had the "throttle" as he said, adjusted, so it would be less sensitive, so I imagine he had the TV cable adjusted, thanks for the replies. :cheers:

Top--- Im sure the problem is from OD now, becuase if im going 50 , cruising a long, and drop it into D from [D] then it will drop once, then I can mash it and it will drop into second, but still ... :crazy:
