Does anyone know where i could find a set of C5 z06 wheels with the 38mm offset for my 87? All i can seem to find is ones with the 56mm offset. Any help would be appreciated.
Don't think anyone makes them. Would be great to have C5/Z06 wheels with the 84-87 offset, but one of the companies would have to step forward and bring some to market. Could be expensive to do if the sales are not high from the git-go.
i have been lookin for two months now. i have seen offsets in the lower 50's but none lower than that. i have also seen you need to use a 1" spacer because the required 3/4" spacer will let the studs protrude past the spacer and hold the wheel out from the mounting surface(for the zo6 wheel at least)
Yeah i've heard that about the studs sticking out too far on the 3/4 inch spacers. My understanding is that it depends on the wheel that you buy though. Some have areas in the back removed so the tips of the studs dont hit with the 3/4" if i'm not mistaken.
I have a set of Camero wheels with the same offset - I tried one on the rear of my 84 and it looks like a 1/2" may be enough. I would rather use this simple spacer rather than the 1 inch adaptors even if I have to have longer wheel studs. Has anyone tried these?
I believe the only way to get that look is to buy the Z06 "Motorsport" wheels with the fake rivets as mentioned above. They are available from several vendors in different finishes.

When you mount late C4 wheels on the early cars, the adapters with the acorn-style nuts do protrude past the adapter face. But OEM C4 wheels have recesses on the mounting flange between the holes so that the acorn nuts simply fit into those recesses.
If OEM C5 wheels (thin spokes or Z06) have a flat mounting flange with no recesses, then you have to go to thicker adapters or use different nuts on the adapters. The stud length on the 3/4" adapters could be an issue too.
Going to a 1" adapter should not be a problem unless you go to oversize tires. Just check carefully for any rubbing at the frame rail or edges of the fenderwells.
As far as I know there is not anyone making a C5 Z06 wheel in the correct offset. I think there are some companies making a C5 Z06 Motorsport but ewe do not have them. They do make the C6 Z06 with a 40m offset that will work and we also have the ZR1 and Torq Thrust II's that will work.
One other benefit for the adaptor versus the spacers is that the adaptor is much stronger than the spacers. If you are running a lot of HP/TQ there is a lot of strain on anytrhing above a 1/4 or 5/16 spacer.
