C4 front end width & wheel questions
Can 88 and later front wheels be used on 84-87 front ends? How much will it narrow it?
Can 84-87 wheels be used on 88 and later front suspensions? How much wider does that make it?
I know that C5 rears can be used on C4 fronts, but is that for any year, or 88- 96 only?
Can a 84-87 C4 front be upgraded to the zero scrub suspension without replacing the X member or A arms? (Is it simply s spindle re-design?)
Thanks,
Cody
Early wheels on a late car will stick out, late wheels on a early car will sit futher inslde.
It may be possible to bolt on the A-arms between years (they are slightly different), but the springs are different lengths as would be the length of the steering rack and the distance the tie-rod ends would travel from lock to lock. The springs are not interchangable also because of width and mounting points.
The shocks were unique to the 88 which was probably due to length.
