I finally got a new rear mono spring for may 85 because mine was delaminated getting ready to switch it out but when I actually crawled under the rear end of the car I noticed another spring which has been installed above the mono spring. Its attached with the same shackle and sits on top of the mono it appears to be a four leaf looking thing like a normal leaf spring setup but the ends don't hook to anything they just rest on the mono spring. Looks like maybe was added to stiffen up the rear suspension. Looked in my service manual and can find no referance on this extra spring. Looks like if I just put the mono back on without this added spring I'll need to shorten the shackle bolts. Any Info you guys could give me would be appreciated.
