I did a search and found LOTS in the c3 section. Has anyone ever put fiero seats in a c4? I simply cannot put the kind of money out for late c4 sport seats, and I am too tall for the c4 seats to be comfortable. Ive got a few fieros and they are quite comfortable even my height.
The best thing to do if you want to lower the seats is to use a manual seat track from a '84, it will give you about an inch or more, they are cheap about $30.00 on Ebay. Do a search, I have a link to the thread on my home computer, if you need it.
do some measuring. i have been eyeballing the evo 8 recaros since they sell used around 400-500 and look and feel just killer. it all comes down to the tape, i did some of those cool VW recaros from the late 80s early 90s cars in a mustang awhile back. it all comes down to inches. measure em up and see what works. drilling holes and using strips of steel are sometimes needed but you would be amaized at what fits. also consider corbau and the fact they have a narrow adjustable seat that fits great in C4s 300 a piece new if i remember right.

Please give any input you may have. Thanks!
My advice...
Get the tape measure out and see if they fit. Tracks can be modified as needed so if they physically fit and you like them go for it.
Just because nobody has done it yet doesn't make it a bad idea

Do you still get the same range of adjustability? I'm not a fan of the power seats, as I don't adjust them all the time, but I like the position I have them in now. Do the manual sliders just go back and forth?

I have not done this mod yet, waiting to get new seats . I can't find the link to the thread, but give me some time, I'll find it.

Cool. I just bought some on ebay. I'll put my 6 way power bases away. I'd rather use manual anyhow, and if I get added head room (helmet at the track) than yay!
I never had a car with power seats before the vette, but on my fbodies they all had the ability to rock the base up and down, like a tilt. I'd still like that so my legs won't be completely straight, but if not I'll live.
Im only wanting to change the seats because they are approaching painful on any length of a drive. The factory "headrest" area hits right on my neck and feels horrible. My 96 is great, but I cannot spring for the cost of those right now. Also, I am very fit and my leg muscles are too wide for the side supports. My wife fits fine
I want it to look close to original and need all the headroom I can get.

Randy,
Hey man can you give more info about the 84 seat frames I found some on !-bay but it says 84-96' manual seat track. how can we tell the difference? Thanks
I like the idea of getting more room up top for sure, I found several manual tracks online including one here in the fs forum. I appreciate all the input and think I may go that route for now. THe fiero base is about 1.5 inches too wide to mount without too much effort

I bought a set on ebay earlier, based on Randy's post.

Yes I understand that part. And thanks for your help.
So if the track is a manual track it will be shorter?
My 85' has the electric seat on the drivers side and manual on the pass- side, I will try to measure the difference after taking out the seats.

Reading that thread they don't appear to be shorter out of the box, but it appears they can be modified to be 1.75" shorter easily. I'm assuming the tracks are steel and not alum, so welding should be fairly simple. If they are alum you'll need a tig or bring 'em to a welder.
