Default SM steel fw replacement- Match Balanced?

i'm replacing my DM fw and clutch with a SM steel fw and stageII clutch from Carolina clutch.
They mentioned that it should be "match balanced". my shop guy says he doesn't think it's necessary.

In the FAQ here, it's stated that "match balancing" is a myth, and that i should just make sure that the flywheel is a direct oem replacement, and not "383 internally balanced".

what say you?

Carolina Tech support is not stellar so far. pretty brief and not very helpful.

Tom at CC clutch recommends you double check the balancing, Id listen to him as he sells the stuff.

.. and match balancing is the process of spinning the new fw and comparing it to the old fw or is it simply transferring weights in relation to their position on the original DMfw?
