Default Aftermarket TPI Bases

For a 89 L98 what would be the best choice ?The Accel or the Edelbrock base?I want to use my stock ported plenum and AZ Speed and Marine runners.Do they both use the Felpro 1204 or the 1205 intake gaskets?

I'm running the Ed one. The jury is still out on it's performance as I am still making other changes and needing to burn a new chip. IMHO, the Accel has bigger ports. The Ed was alot cheaper so that's why I got it. Jeez!...for under 400.00? I would jump on that! Where were you WINNER when I was looking for the Accel at a good price? Oh well....sometimes ya win and others .....

I've got the Accell intake and like it alot.. It was good for a solid 15rwhp gain before and after dyno results. Lots of room for porting and matching.

I bought an Edel base for 250 bucks some 4 years ago, and it was never used, but some one some how did some port matching polishing action on it....been fine, nice piece of gear....now ONE thing, and I blame the old iron heads on the original install, I had to have the manifold ground on a 'bias' to close up the bottom of the V intake side, to stop induction leaks and too much air....
well anyway, when switching to Edel aluminum heads, I just bolted it up with Fel Pro...and it's been fine for years now.....
so the thing is, by my experience....I don't know who did the porting/polishing for sure,....
but compared to a stock manifold, it's a no contest positive move......

I have both, the Accel has bigger ports right outta the box and I like the quality better. JMOH
